Does anyone have a new flatscreen TV? If so how do you like it? I would like to get one someday, it would make for a great computer monitor as well!!!! thumbsup.gif

Also waiting for the price to come down. I don’t think they have been around long enough to have much of a track record as far as longevity.

Actually I recently saw a 32″ at Sam’s for $999!!! It was made by some branch of Zenith or something like that.

I get the same size screen for around $300 at almost any dept store cept with a lil more booty then the plazmas. “baby got back” refering to tvs of course. Drogar-Laugh(LBG).gif who knows a couple years down the road they may have issues with them starting walls on fire or somethin icon_surprised.gif

I’ve got a small widescreen LCD for my computer that I found at Costco online. (Envision: 17 inches diagonal.) The pix is okay, but CRTs are much better than LCDs IMO. I’ve also been checking into a 50″ unit for the home entertainment center. I’m firmly convinced that DLPs are every big as good as Plasmas, maybe even better. DLPs are also cheaper than DLPs. I probably won’t buy one for another year or so but if I had to replace my 15 year old Trinitron ASAP, I’d buy a Samsung. Excellent picture, beautiful styling, great reputation.

What is DLP, maybe I’m just not familiar with the shorthand.

I know the big advantage of having a flat tv will be the ability to hang it on the wall – entertainment centers will become obsolete in a sense

You can’t hang a DLP on the wall, but the picture is as just as good as Plasma, IMO. They also run cooler than Plasma and are cheaper than Plasma. Also, I expect they’re cheaper to repair than Plasma.

NOTE: For whatever reason, DLPs don’t seem to reflect bright objects in the viewing room. (No glare at all!!!!!!)

Wow amazing!!! Also do they last longer than plasma tvs, I know plasma only lasts so long before it needs to be replaced. LCDs last longer and are better about not burning things into the tv but I wonder if DLP is even better!

I’ve seen it done at The Hard Rock, so I suppose you could do it too. w00t.gif w00t.gif w00t.gif

BTW, I don’t know about the life expectancy… I suppose a quick google search would help with that.

Thanks. It’s Doc Brown from Back to the Future, but you probably knew that already. When I grow up, I want to be just like him. Drogar-BigGrin(LBG).gif
