    Hey everyone.
Lately I have been thinking of adding a limited slip diff. to my car, my car and the Mini Cooper S share the same 6 speed tranny and the optional LSD fits right in, so I was wondering are their any downsides to a LSD?
I know it is going to be a PITA to install but thats why I pay someone to do it for me lol.

On wet pavement, they can cause the whole car to slide off to one side, instead of spinning one tire, but staying straight. Other than that, a LSD is always better for traction….

Ive had a limited slip in my car since i was in highschool and i never had any problems with it in wet weather or snow. As with any car on slippery or snow packed pavement your gonna do some sliding, its just how u drive and how u control your vehicle. i mean if you drop the hammer around a corner filled with ice of course your gonna go sideways or worse yet spin out. LSD uses whats commonly called a clutch pack inside and the axles work against the clutches when going around corners and such and also they use a special fluid additive.
