    Hi guys,

As you all know, I have always used Turtlewax on my car. That requires a damp cloth to apply it, partly because it spreads better and partly because it requires a tiny amount of water to bond to the car surface.

Today, I went all-out and bought a premium wax with carnauba wax in it. I noticed right away that it was of a more paste-like consistency than Turtlewax which is fairly liquid. I tried to apply it to my car using a damp cloth but it simply dispersed and wouldn’t apply, so I was forced to apply using a dry cloth.

It came off easily, and left an incredible shine. My question is: has it really bonded to the car surface with no water?

The wax I bought is this one:

    Thanks for any advice!

    Cobra

I think it would depend on how you define bonded. I would guess that the wax is laying on top of your final paint coat or clear coat and will be OK there for several washings, but I do not think that it is a permanent bond. A small amount of moisture (water) in applying wax is always helpful in reaching a glossy, sparkly finish.

I recently purchased a DuPont product (recommended by GTO Man)

called Rod and Custom Show Car creme, which is a liquid (runny) polish and wax, which is as good or better than an Carnuba wax product. When applied properly and polished, this product will make your shine look like it is three feet deep. It is that incredible. The product is not cheap, but it’s reputation is spread by word of mouth and it is not available in any stores, that I know of.

    Where can you buy it?

I bought mine directly from the distributor at the fall Jefferson Show. I understand that they also set up at the Iola Show in Iola, WI. It may also be available online, but I am not certain of this. I heard about this product from GTO Man and G Man, and I saw it for myself at the fall Jefferson Show. I will be redoing my car in the spring, if not before, with this product.

    Cobra,
    Try this website:

    http://www.zingading.com

This is a local paintless, dentless company that handles this product – Rod & Custom Show Car Creme, on the side.

Has anyone found any new car care products they would like to share?
