Alias Cut Short?
E! Online’s “Watch With Kristin” column reported that ABC has cut the order for the last season of Alias to 17 episodes from 22. Citing an unnamed show representative, the column also reported that writers are worried that the network may cut the show’s order further, depending on when the show eventually returns to the schedule.
ABC still hasn’t scheduled Alias, which is supposed to wrap up its last season in the spring.
According to the column, the writers have come up with a plan to bring the Alias storylines to a conclusion within the allotted remaining episodes, even if they need to end the show more quickly than expected.
Alias has resumed production following star Jennifer Garner’s maternity leave.

Alias Returns In April
ABC ended speculation about the fate of its spy drama Alias on Feb. 28 by announcing that it would return to the prime-time schedule on April 19 with a two-hour episode, starting at 8 p.m. ET/PT. ABC also released spoilers about the special episode, which will feature the birth of Sydney’s (Jennifer Garner) baby and the reappearance of Michael Vaughn (Michael Vartan). Alias, which is in its final season, will move to Wednesdays at 8 p.m.In further spoilers, ABC said that upcoming episodes will reveal the outcome of Sloane’s unholy alliance in his search for the cure for daughter Nadia (Mia Maestro) and the endgame of the Rambaldi prophecy.
As reported earlier, the network confirmed that familiar faces from the past will crop up in Sydney’s life, including Will Tippin (Bradley Cooper), Irina Derevko (Lena Olin) and nemeses Julian Sark (David Anders) and Anna Espinosa (Gina Torres).
TV Guide Online’s “Ask Ausiello” column, meanwhile, confirmed a report on E! Online that the show has cut back its order of episodes: According to TV Guide’s reckoning, the show will air six more episodes, including two-hour segments on April 19 and May 24, the series finale.
Good show, I hate that it is going off the air, just shows what the networks will do when the main character has a life chanhging event in their life…Garner got Pregnant…
