Who else here likes scifi? (I know you do darth paris)
What shows do you like and why?
Personally I like all Star Trek, Farscape, Babylon 5, Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis, and Battlestar Galactica.
Star Trek has been a great adventure, and the original series was such a pivitol series in terms of scifi tv.
Farscape is such a great show, so creative and moving..
Both Stargates give a more realistic sense of scifi in the sense that they take place in present day.
Babylon 5, so many things to say about it… What an amazing storyline and the characters are so real, the whole series follows how actions have consequences and we must face up to the choices that we make.
Battlestar Galactica is a different type of scifi, darker. -

I see a few posts were lost in the restore. Glad it wasn’t more serious than that.
We’re a Star Trek family and have TNG and DS9 on DVD. We’re working on getting Voyager now.
But …we’re not complete fanatics about it like …well ….some people we know

Yep it looks like a few were lost… I’ve been going through the forum and I saw your posts and thought, “wait a sec, didn’t I already something really similar to this???” What happened!” but then realized that it must be the restore. Thanks for replacing your’s Cap!
Those dvds are really nice, I see that ENT is going to have some come out now too. Did you ever watch ENT?
March 14, 2005 at 2:21 am #6560GaribaldiKeymasterAnyone have any good Farscape links? Or any scifi in general?
March 14, 2005 at 3:15 am #6561AnonymousInactiveI have watched everything trek. The only one I currently watch is Enterprise, but that is about to come to an end. I watch SG-1 and Atlantis. I love SG-1 and so far Atlantis hasn’t been great, but it is on par with SG-1 season 1. I have watched all over Farscape(minus one episode due to both of my 120 Gig drives being full). On tuseday I hope to have all of season 1 on DVD. I have also seen everything there is to see of B5 minus the legend of the rangers. From what I have heard I haven’t missed much. I have the first three season of B5 on DVD. I also have the movies and Crusade.

I have seen bits and pieces of Enterprise, I haven’t been that impressed with it, I would have preferred that they not do a prequel series because there are so many timeline issues to deal with. I’ve watched SG-1 and Atlantis, I think the Atlantis episodes are pretty good for a first season, and it was nice seeing Colm Meaney (Chief O’Brien) as a guest star too. Of course Farscape, which is such a great series, and the mini too! I’ve seen all of B5 except for season 3.

We didn’t like ENT as much. My sons were disturbed that they didn’t follow the technical timeline the other series’ followed. I know it’s a bit much, but when they start a series with a precursor to the original NCC-1701, that has all these weapons that we didn’t see appear until TNG, it sours the experience. Plus, T’Pol was a lame attempt at another Seven-of-Nine, and instead came across as a nasty, hateful character, even for a vulcan 😯 We gave it a chance, but it never enthralled us like the previous STs did.

I have about the same opinion about ENT. I mean you hear about phlox’s race, but never in TOS, or the suliban for that matter. Also you have appearances by the Romulans and Ferengi, which first contact hasn’t occured for yet. A prequel just has too many messy problems with it IMO.
March 14, 2005 at 11:30 pm #6565AnonymousInactiveThe Romulans were bever seen on Enterprise by any humans. The Ferengi incident was a rather minor note in starfleet history. It is doubtfould that a crew 200 years in the future would be awar of it. The vulcans were off at the begining of the show, but all of this was explained during the fourth season. Also we got an explination for the Klingons. Although I’m not sure that one was needed. What weapon were you refering to that showed up in TNG that were out of placce on Enterprise? As far as the sulibans or Dinobulans go, that is true that they were never mentioned in any other show, but there were plenty of TOS aliens that weren’t carried over to TNG.

I really did like the whole thing with the borg from First Contact, I thought that tied in really well. BTW where did you get your avatar and your sig with the “I took a nuclear bomb into a field of flowers?”
March 15, 2005 at 1:44 am #6567AnonymousInactiveThis sig is a custom one I made. The Image of John is one I found at http://www.unchartedterritories.net/
My current avatar came from the icons section on the same site. My old one was a modified version of one from that site.
