What’s new in your lives? Anything of interest, either car related or not?

One thing I’ve been doing lately is converting a buch of tivoed stuff to dvd with TMPGENCE DVD Author and my capture card – I’ve really gotten it down to a slick process so it goes pretty quick and is pretty painless. Now if only I could find a program to automatically cut out commercials I’d be all set

Not much. Though garage sale season is coming around and might be able to pick up some good movies cheap or some new used electronics.

    Other than that not much.

Yeah there were a few garage sales here on saturday, I didn’t stop though. I don’t make it too many unfortunately because they always are at the same time as car shows!

Hmm… somethings gotta give garibaldi :) :D You never know what you find at one. Plenty of oddball stuff. The nice thing is you can find a lot of old tech in it too. Stuff you have seen in years but is still serviceable.

Yeah I picked up a zip drive a few years ago at a garage sale (before flashes were available and zips were still used), but they didn’t have the power cord which I didn’t realize and then when I got it home it was completely useless. I tried some adapter cords but the drive was constructed in such a way that the power connection was inset where it couldn’t be reached with anything except its specific adapter. Anyway, that’s about the extent of my computer-related garage sale purchases as of recently, although there are definitely a lot of good deals out there thumbsup.gif

I’ve been doing some projects around the house, and clearing away the papers stacked on my desk.

I have been/am in the process of “freshening up” and remodeling two full bathrooms and one half bath. I am doing flooring, replacing toilets (all 3 have been rebuilt one too many times), painting, vanities, countertops (I have a better appreciation of how expensive cultured marble, granite and/or DuPont Corian is), and lighting. At my current speed, I may be finished before 2010!!! thumbsup.gif

That is alot of work, bathrooms are very time-consuming to remodel. I am replacing a mantel in my house, it was never done right in the first place. Took it off the wall and am covering it with cedar.

That will be a great mantel once it is done.

    Marshall,

I guess there’s not much of a market for used toilets. Drogar-Laugh(LBG).gif I remember Red Green found a use for them though, room-to-room intercom, just put a used toilet in each room connected with a pipe and you have yourself an intercom system with excellent accoustics! :haha: Its not for me though
