There’s no way I’d pay that much for some fuel. I already pay a premium for RON 97/98 fuel (my car requires RON 95), and that’s only a few pennies more per litre. If that were 10p more, I’d buy it, but I draw the line at that. In a 1.5l Almera, it’s just not worth it. The high octane fuel I use just now seems to give the engine a slightly smoother run, and it seems to have just a tiny bit more low-end grunt, but aside from that it makes no difference at all. It does, however, seem to burn very cleanly compared to standard fuel.
