Damn, two threads moved in one night? I thought I posted this in the Drag Strip.

That’s what comes of hitting the spirits after a long day of driving, I suppose. :)

Everyone makes that mistake once-in-awhile, I’m making a stronger effort to keep the forum organized too

I bet it would never get to the states, none of the GT-R’s have come here, so why should that change?
Besides the GT-R is kind of the “god” car to all the ricers I know.

Shame that you guys won’t get it. It’s going to be a damn fast car.

I still like the Mazda RX-8 with that 1.3l engine. Bloody quick, it is.

It is quick, though you have to rev the living daylights out of the engine to get anything out of it.

Yep – power comes in at about 7,000rpm going up to 9,000rpm. Not ideal.

It’s not just the engine on that car that makes it quick, it’s the handling. So often neglected for straight-line speed.

It’s only about £23,000 which is pretty good, although for thrills you could get a Vauxhall VX220 for £27,000 which is a really nice car.

Straight line speed isn’t all it is cracked up to be, the real fun is in the twisties! icon_punk.gif icon_punk.gif

I’ve been watching downloads of Top Gear, and I think I know what that Vauxhall is, and they said it torquesteers like crazy. Though they also said the new Focus ST starts at somthing like 18K (I don’t have that funny pounds symbol lol) and you get that nice handling and that 5 cylinder Volvo engine.

In the US the RX-8 sells for about the same price as a Mustang, so you can guess which one most of my countrymen go for, plus the engine in the RX is kind of at the limit of what you can do with it, not much after market exists for it compared to everything else in its price range.
