My main garage has a radiant gas heater that the
previous owner installed.It’s garbage. The fumes will knock you out and you freeze
unless you stand directly in front of it.The ideal heater would be a vented gas furnace.
I use a 240 volt 5600 watt electric heater and it works great.
The main garage is 28 x 32 and it’s insulated so the electric
heater is perfect. It also has a separate power line from
the street.

I vented the furnace for the house into the garage(which is part of the lower level). Just one vent is all I needed.

If I were heating my garage (if I’m ever lucky enough to have one) I would use fire. Obviously.
