See You Down The Road

After many years serving the classic car community, Wisconsin Collector Car will be shutting down at the end of 2024. Thank you for all of the car show memories!

Well the time has come for me to call it quits for 2006……

The Fastback goes into the shop on Tuesday for a major overhaul and restoration. I was hoping for another couple of weeks for a few more car shows, but that is not to be.

Bryan Niles (a well known Mustang restorer here in the midwest) will be working his magic on my car for the next 4 to 6 months, in Prairie du Sac. He wants to get started next week, so my car show season is over after this weekend. I did OK this year with a Best of Class in Edgerton and a Best in Class Runner-Up in Portage, but I can’t wait until 2007. My hope is that the fastback will be competitive at every show on every weekend. Even though my car will be out of service, I still intend to go to the Waterloo show and the Platteville Show and the Amato Ford show in Mukwonago with the camera for some pics for the forum.

I hope to see everyone this weekend at Pardeeville on Saturday and maybe Lake Ripley on Sunday (weather permitting).

Its always sad when the cars go away for the winter. Yours may be going away a little early but it is for a good cause. It looks great the way it is so I am anxious to see it when its done. You will have to keep us informed of his progress. Are you planning on taking alot of pics of the work being done?

    GTO Man,
I am taking care of that this morning. There was a chance of showers in the weather for yesterday, so I backed it up one day.

Actually, I am kind of sad, yet excited to get the newest projects started. I got up early this morning and took the cover off and wiped the car down one last time. It will be a pleasure to drive the car this morning out to Prairie du Sac.
Once again, the weather for this coming weekend is not looking real good, especially for Sunday.
