    Hi folks!

Here are some of my favorite cars.

    datsun.jpg

1970 Datsun 2000 bought new in ’70 drove to Arizona. Burned up the engine after 11 months and 11000 mi. Rebuilt w/ shaved head
Warped head again following year. Shaved it again This car would do 135 to 140 ALL DAY LONG! Added custom roll bar and paint job. Won a couple of SCCA auto cross trophies with this baby

It was totaled by an idiot who pulled out in front of me. Uninsured driver.

1967 Cougar. 390 solid lifters What a wonderfull vehicle. wish I still had it!

’84 300Z Lots of fun to drive. Taken out by a broken timing belt. I have learned my lesson re: changing timing belts!!

    missblue3.jpg

The Lovely Miss Blue. This one gave me a hard on every time I put her on! Unfortunately, She destroyed my back. I ran up hundreds of dollars each month on chiropractor bills and pain killers!

It was my daily ride for only a year and a half untill I couldn’t take the pain any more.

She still pulled strong, streached the arms at 145. SWMBO (the spousal unit) made me slow down. I believe she’d do 160 plus easily.

Wanted a Vette since ’55 finally could afford one but couldnt keep her. I still mourn her demise.

I now drive a ’07 honda Fit and a Toyota Tacoma crew cab. Love them both, but their not Miss Blue crybaby2.gif

When I retire and don’t have to commute 60 mi round trip in Orlandos rush hr traffic, I think I’ll buy a Pontiac Solstice GXP, 265 hp 265 ft lbs torque one! Better than Viagra!

Great to hear about your car adventures! How long did you own the Cougar for?

Had the Cougar only for a year. After I graduated from college I had a 5 year stint with boring company cars and the manual stearing in the Cougar was a little much for S.W.M.B O.

Haven’t autocrossed in decades, but if I had an appropriate car, I’d do it again in a heart beat!

You know if its a company car it won’t be anything interesting. If you could have one of them back (of all the ones you’ve owned), which one would it be and why?

Well Mr G., If I could have one of my cars back it would be The Lovely Miss Blue hands down! It’s the only car I’ve ever named by far the fastest and, well, I just LOVED driving her. If it wasn’t for my back I’d never have given her up!

All three cars were awsome in their own way but the Vette…. crybaby2.gif dontknow.gif What can I say. For the first month I owned her I’d get up and go to the garage several times each night and just say WHOOOOOO!!!

The wife wants to get into autocrossing when I get off my deployment, but she does not want to jump into it and learn stick shift at the same time so I am looking at a good used autoX car for he to use and as a spare car for us incase my SVT Focus or her Blazer breaks. Right now I am looking at getting her a Prelude or regular Min Cooper (don’t want to get her a Cooper-S because those things are freaking weapons… and in the same class as me and I definatly can’t have the wife going faster can I?!).
