    About this time last year, there was some lively discussion about a car show kit, or an emergency kit that we each carry in our cars as we travel back and forth from the car shows. Here are some additional items that I have added for the coming season:

    Fan Belt,
    set of distributor points,
    rotor,
    condensor, and
    primary lead wire for the distributor

    Many of us are running the Petronix electronic ignition, but if it should ever give up the ghost, we need to be ready to go back to an original set up to get up back home.

    I know this year I will be bringing my new Panasonic Lumix camera, should get some great pictures and videos. That’s a good idea having the extra belt, you can never be too safe

    I calculated the cost of my glovebox distributor/ignition repair kit, and the cost was less than $25. Pretty cheap insurance in case the electronic ignition fails! I have heard that the Petronix systems sometimes do hiccup, so I have a backup system in place.

    Indeed. Although things are better now with cellphones, it would still require a lot more hassle than having spares with you. Have you been able to find a model of your mustang (same color/options/year)? That’s kind of a cool accessory that some guys have at the shows on their air cleaner or dash.

    No, I haven’t found a model or diecast that would be similiar to my car.

    I have been on the hunt for replacement parts, though. I am seriously looking for a year correct Ford or Fomoco or Autolite Fire Extinquisher. I did pick up a nice OE walnut shift knob that matches the steering wheel.

    I am planning on taking the windshield and rear window trim off (if I can just get it off without doing more damage with the removal tool) and taking it for professional polishing.
