What does everyone think of Nascar’s Car of Tomorrow? I think it is good that they are trying to bring costs down, but that cat is ugly.

What about Toyota’s presence in NASCAR?

Toyota hasn’t done much in Nascar yet this season. Michael Waltrip has failed to make the last 3-4 races. As for the COT, I thought it looked like something my son would make out of legos and looked like a truck. The wing was kinda cool, but I prefer the “normal” cars better! :)

Do you think that they’re just getting a slow start and will pick up later in the season, or do you think they’re not going to be able to break into the NASCAR line-up?

Toyota? I think it’ll take them a bit to get up to speed with everyone else. It’s early in the season!

Toyota will get better as they get more experience. I don’t see them taking Nascar by storm. The engineers working on the other manufacturers cars are just as good as Toyota’s.

NASCAR is also talking with Honda about joining the truck series…then the Cup.

I quit following NASCAR at the end of the ’05 season…I still watch Dave Despain’s Sunday show on Speed so I’m not totally in the dark but the changes that Brian France has made to the sport have mostly been wrong.

You won’t hear many NASCAR insiders complain too much ‘cuz they are all on the NASCAR welfare program…they make all of this $$$ so they don’t bite the hand that feeds ’em.

Brian France is out to line his pockets…plain and simple.

Would Hondas be appearing in the ’08 season?

All I know is the rumors about the discussions they are having with Honda.

I’m sure it depends on how much $$$ Honda is willing to pay NASCAR for the ‘privilige’ of racing in one of their series. Then NASCAR will let them enter the truck series to get their feet wet…

It’s a shame that NASCAR is so powerful… they have the right to say yea or nay to the teams on sponsors which is really ridiculous. Every sponsor in NASCAR not only pays the teams but has to pay a ‘royalty fee’ to NASCAR to participate….pure and simple greed!

I started following auto racing in 1958…I still enjoy the sport but refuse to support Brian France’s dictatorship.

I, too, gave up on NASCAR, but in my case, several years ago. I followed the career of Dale Sr., from the 1960s up until his untimely death at Daytona.

For me, Dale Sr. was a large part of the NASCAR experience, and I just don’t like the commercialization and “scripting” that goes on at every level.

The COT will be the only car next year, I can see NASCAR losing more viewers.
