What’s your favorite TV show and why? I’d probably have to say my favorite non-scifi show is Seinfeld. Its got a great cast and every episode is hilarious, even though its a show about nothing! thumbsup.gif

On the dramatic side The Shield is an entertaining show.
April 12, 2005 at 2:10 am #8706AnonymousInactiveI like The Shield for how it pushes the envelope. I also make it a point to watch Rides on TLC.
One show I wish a network would have picked up was Playmakers which was once on ESPN during 2003. It was a drama about the lives of athletes on a fictional football team on and off the field. The show was so good because it covered issues that we see surrounding athletes each day.
Drugs, steroids, infidelity, people getting preferential treatment because they were in good favor with the owner. The issues were so true that NFL players and the League office was complaining about the very nature of the show. It got to the point that the NFL said pull the show or it will affect future relationships between the NFL and ESPN/ABC. Loosely translated, pull the show or you will loose the NFL network contract when it comes for renewal time.
It’s a shame that a network not affliated or have relations with the NFL did not pick it up.

I don’t believe I ever saw Playmakers but it sounds like a good show. It must of been hitting too close to home for the NFL and it’s players. Like you its too bad it wasn’t picked up by a network that couldn’t be influenced.
That’s what I like about The Shield, its out on the edge of what is televised. I also think that Rides is a very well done show. I think Overhaulin’ started out well, but is now to commercial oriented.

No matter what they say or do it’s funny!
The show has a great cast of goofy characters to
keep things interesting.August 7, 2005 at 10:01 pm #8710GaribaldiKeymasterWhat about the Cosby Show?
August 7, 2005 at 10:33 pm #8711AnonymousInactiveThat was slow and boring.
That’s just my opinion, and I’m usually on the
other side of the fence! Everybody already
knows I don’t like Seinfeld!!!!!
icon_vomit1.gifAugust 7, 2005 at 10:34 pm #8712GaribaldiKeymasterIMO its a good show, his type of comedy is different – more dry – and some people don’t like that
August 7, 2005 at 11:02 pm #8713AnonymousInactiveI don’t like him because I hate his voice!
I know, that’s a strange reason!!!That’s why I also don’t like Gary Shandling, Fran
Drescher and Gilbert Gottfried.icon_vomit1.gif
August 7, 2005 at 11:25 pm #8714GaribaldiKeymasterBattlestar Galactica is an unbelieveable show! The drama, action, and overall aspect of the show in my opinion is fantastic!!! Its very well written and the acting is superb, the season 1 finale was not only stunning but also had a lot of suspense like “who shot JR?”
