This past Saturday was the inaugural show of Wisconsin Hot Rod Radio Show, 1340AM, broadcasting from the Milwaukee area. Was anyone able to listen in to this show? It would have been nice if the station could boosted its signal strength so that we could pick up the broadcast in the Madison area. As I understand it, this will be a once weekly show for one hour from 9AM to 10AM every Saturday morning.

It would be nice if they would podcast it, then everyone across the state would be able to listen!

From what I understand, this is only available in the Milwaukee area and only shows/events in that area will be discussed. They were advertising heavily at the WOW in Milwaukee and I asked many questions. It’s a great idea, unfortunate not closer to us!

Its a great idea, too bad a Madison station doesn’t do something like that. Oh thats right Madison is not a car town, maybe they will do a bicycle show.

The event listings on the web site cover areas far beyond Milwaukee. So if there are any car events we want listed, it looks like we should be able to send them in.

Have shows like Blanchardville, VFW, etc been added already?

I’ll give it a try, but I specifically asked about Madison shows and was told they would not be advertising anything in the Madison area. From the looks of the website, it’s all Milwaukee and into the south.

I sent them passes to the Iola Old Car Show for giveaways and contest prizes in return for on-air mentions during the show so I know they will be discussing at least one non-Milwaukee show…

1340 is the old WRIT from the 50’s and 60’s. They, and WOKY, were the rock-n-roll pioneers in Milwaukee. I don’t know much about their signal these days but 1340 was never a big flame-thrower even in it’s hay day. When we used to go crusin’ around Racine and such we’d listen to WLS or WCFL ‘cuz they had a better signal…

As a follow up to this, I did receive a call from them on Sunday wanting more information on Road Apples Cruise Nights. I asked about Madison shows and was told they are now including other areas besides Milwaukee/Illinois so I sent them more information about our cruise nights and also the HOH show. I will be sending more information also. Very nice guys with a great idea!

Indeed. I heard back from Arlo via email and he is planning on getting podcasting of the shows going soon. This means you’ll be able to listen to them on your computer (and relisten) whenever you want and whereever you want.

If Madison had a show it would promote the Toyota Prius and Honda Element car shows, along with bicycles and wind powered skateboards. Maybe if they did have show like that, they could make a panel of judges consisting of Mayor Dave (aka Hitler), Ben Masel (Weedstock), and Brenda Konklin (city alderman who don’t take care of her own property).

Gosh, for not living in Madison I sure care a lot about there politics… dontknow.gif
