I’m looking at the radar now, this show was cancelled last year due to conditions just like this. The park can be pretty muddy and hard to move around in due to all the grass and mud. I think we might wait a bit and hopefully it dries up some before heading out. I really like this show too!

Will they somehow let people know if it is cancelled? Is it all on grass?

Wow, this is incredible! I think this makes 3 years in a row that it has been canceled! I guess it really is a water town! w00t.gif

Guys, I was pretty disappointed with the weather also. I was looking to get an early start and was in the garage at 5:30 ready to roll out. About the time I was ready to go, the skys opened up and it was really raining hard. So, I hung around the house, read the paper, and finally gave up on this show about 8:30.

I don’t know if the show was cancelled or not, but I wonder how many cars showed up and how muddy and wet the show field was.

Anyone go and stay all day?

    Marshall

It was a great show. No rain and not too hot since the sun wasn’t out. First time I had been there and I will go back. There is allot going on besides the show.

    Specific Ratings (A-F):
Arrival/Departure (easy to find, easy to leave?) – Super easy and lots of nice signs.

Parking Location – Grass. Zero issues with mud, even in the spots that every car drove down. Lots of Trees.
(I think Marshall may need a few of our cell phone numbers)

Class Organization – Some of the car classes had to have been huge. There were about 250 cars.

Link to car show flyer with classes

Trophies & Prizes – No prizes or goodie bag, but all trophies were 3.5′ tall.

Food – This was a festival so they had a ton of stuff (even french fries and fried fish). You had to purchase Coupins to buy food.

Entertainment – Stuff was going on all day long. A concert by a beetles cover band was a short 2 minute walk away. At 1:30 there was a Ski show. An arts and crafts fair with about 50 vendors. And there was some speakers for the car show (they played the stock 50-60’s music).

Judging – Yup they did Judge

Dash Plaque – got one, it was kinda plain looking, one color on the metal background.

Variety of Cars – Pretty good. I didn’t see many t-birds.

Bathrooms – 2 porta johns on one end and then a short walk to the fair with a ton of porta johns and other normal flush ones.

    Weather – cloudy humid.

Trophy Presentation Timing – Started at 3’ish, took 40 minutes. The only suggestion to speed it up would of been to announce the 1st person clap, give the award, then announce the next 2 folks in the class (3 trophies per class) clap, give award …. repeat….

Entry Fee – 10 bucks. Pretty normal

    Overall Rating:A

Great show in a nice setting. The only thing I could think of is having a couple of door prizes.

Congrats to Rachel and her husband Steve that took home
not 1 not 2 but 3 trophies! 2 for best in class, and 1 for
    Fireman bob’s pick.

Somehow the car Gods were on my side too, since I took home
    a trophy
for 3rd for best import. There were only 6 cars in the class,
    and 2
weren’t real contenders so I knew I was going to have at least
a shot for 3rd as long as they didn’t dock me to hard for
    the
dents, dings and other body issues my car has. I stuck
the trophy on the front seat and it poked out my roof!

    Specific Ratings (A-F):
Arrival/Departure (easy to find, easy to leave?) – A ~ Nice drive, I thought it was well marked.
Parking Location – B ~ It was a bit wet where we were, but they did a good job of keeping everyone out of the mud.
Class Organization – A ~ They did a nice job, I’m sure the car cout was down this year due to the weather.
Trophies & Prizes – A+!! What else can I say? We were shocked to win 3 awards today!
Food – B ~ Nice selection, the prices were kinda high though.
Entertainment – A ~ They do a great job every year with something for everyone at this show.
Judging – A ~ I like knowing what I’m going to be judged on ahead of time, it makes me work even harder. People give me grief about cleaning my car up so well, but I drive it and enjoy it.
Dash Plaque – A ~ I liked it! Different from the rest.
Variety of Cars – A ~ A great blend of old and new.
Bathrooms – B ~ I also agree they need more, but love it when shows have “real” ones!
Weather – C ~ Rainy, hot, humid. Ick!
Trophy Presentation Timing – A ~ They started at 3, when they told us they would.
Entry Fee – A ~ I preregistered, it was less!
    Overall Rating:A-

We really like this show, I was glad they were able to pull it off today with the weather we had yesterday. Again, we were so surprised to win 3 awards, it almost embarassing. We put a lot of hard work and money into these cars, I hope others appreciate the hobby as much as we do.

I also think it’s a great idea to exchange cell numbers in case something happens or you need more info. Mine is 225-5065.

Congrats to Amigo2k also, I meant to come over and talk to you but the day went much faster than anticipated. Way to go!

Thanks to Amigo2K, GTOMan, and Circletrack for posting. I am really feeling bad for not going, now. My cruising’ buds, Dick Lehnher and Ed Brown decided to go and left the Cottage Grove area around 9AM or so. I was able to wipe down the wife’s car and detail it, so the day wasn’t a total loss. Congrats to Circletrack, Steve, and Amigo2K for the wins.

This is a good idea to see if others are going the day of a show. I’ve spent some time tonight and created a way to safely privately share phone numbers on the site. Its called “Car Show Attendees Circle” and you can see more details and apply to join here (at the top before all the topics):

It sounds like this show has a ton going on and is really a lot of fun!

    Garibaldi,
The link is not working. I would like to participate. Over the past couple of years, I have missed more than my share of shows, thinking that bad weather had cancelled the show.
