As some of you may know, there’s a local guy who has been working for over a year now to restore a ’65 Shelby. I don’t have a ton of details but I know that it was originally scheduled for last summer to be done but attention to detail has kept the restoration going on longer. It is finally complete and he’s going to have it unveiled on February 8th. More details on the calendar

    Garibaldi,

Do you have a specific time? Do you know who the restorer is?

    Marshall,

I got a few more details this morning. It will be starting at 5PM and its car #337. I don’t know who the restorer was but I believe it was a combination of several places to get all the work done. I’ll see if we can find some more details.

Sounds like a great car. At 85 Carroll Shelby probably has had more influence on the car hobby than any one person. The Cobras are the most replicated cars on Earth.

Thanks, this is actually pretty exciting!

These cars were made in such limited numbers, that when another one is rescued and restored and brought back to life, it truly becomes a rare and significant car.

Yeah it is! Brrrr! I think he wants to celebrate getting it done – he had planned on it being ready for this last car show season but as you know in a restoration, things come up.

This guy is a Shelby nut. I spoke with him a few times over the past couple years. Many of you may have met him at Lube cruise ins. He has a blue Shelby and a yellow Shelby, both 68 or 69 I think. He has also owned a California Special. He told me about this one last winter and hoped to have it done by June to unveil at the Lube. He is a great guy and I hope the car turns out to his satisfaction. He has put a lot into it.

I went out also. This GT 350 is an investment grade collector car, that in all likelihood, will not be driven at all, but trailered.

Some of the best Mustang/Shelby restorers in the business from this part of the Mid West were involved in bringing this car back to life. Interestingly enough, this car started as a true “barn find” in Iowa about three years ago.
