a small, little known Show and Shine in Lake Mills or have any additional info? I have heard that this years event (3d year?) will be Saturday, May 3d. I have never heard of this one and don’t exactly know where it would be held. Has anyone been able to purchase an advance copy of the Wisconsin Car Show bible for 2008? As far as I can tell, there is nothing else on the calendar for this date.

I know nothing about this one. I have a contact in Lake Mills, I will see what I can find out for you thumbsup.gif

I did get a flyer for a car show in Lancaster on June 21. I didn’t go last year but attended the year before. Lancaster is a nice town and they put on a nice show thumbsup.gif

I saw a listing for the following show on the Lake Mills calendar.

May 13th – Pyramid City Cruisers Car Show
Come see many collector cars at Sandy Beach 6-8:30pm.

Thanks, moparkid25, for the info on Lancaster. That show is certainly a possibility, although a bit far.

The May 13th Show posted by GTO Man is probably not the show I have been hearing about.

Speaking of car shows, I have friends up in Reedsburg who are in law enforcement and we were talking about the upcoming Automotion 2008. Even though both of my friends in Reedsburg are “ole car guys” and have collector cars that they show, neither will be able to participate in Automotion 2008, as both have been detailed and assigned that weekend to Wisconsin Dells to assist the Dells PD and will be working all weekend.

Maybe you’ll get lucky and one of them will be the cop that writes you your disorderly conduct/reckless driving ticket while doing a burnout? Drogar-Laugh(LBG).gif

During Automotion, they have police officers from Wi Dells, Lake Delton, Reedsburg, Baraboo, and the Sauk County Sheriffs Dept along with the WI State Patrol. Yet all hell seems to break loose somewhere dontknow.gif

And just so you know, Automotion is no longer the most dreaded weekend of the year…. It’s the “hairdressers” weekend, which really confused me until I was told it’s an event held later in the summer which gang members from Chicago flood the area.

Here I was thinking the girl who cuts my hair really lets loose with her blow dryer! :)

Zac is correct, they have officers from every nook and cranny around patrolling that weekend. It still doesn’t stop many though.

They always have to try and ruin anything fun. Most of them probably wish they were driving around in one of the cars.

I’m certain you’re right about that!

I have never stayed over at night to enjoy all the fun. I did pre register for this years show, but will probably only drive up early on Sunday morning with Dick Lehnherr and Ed Brown.

    Well,

I talked to Dick last night, at length, about this show, and he and Ed Brown are just not up for the entire weekend. They’re not getting any younger, and come to think of it, neither am I. Even though we all agreed to pre register, we will only be there on Sunday, and skipping Saturday. I can only speak for myself, but the best part of any car show is the drive there in the early morning when no one else is on the road and I can roll down the windows and just enjoy the drive.

Actually, I was planning on going to the Wisconsin Early Mustanger’s All Ford Show in Cudahay on Sunday, but backed out of that show for Automotion on Sunday.
