I see Subzero is laying off over 230 people. It will be very hard to impossible to find jobs with similar pay/benefits in Wisconsin. I believe it is just the tip of the iceberg. Bush’s little stimulus package is like using chewing gum to fix a leak in the Hoover Dam. It is too little too late and will have little if any impact. People are starting to feel the effects of high fuel prices through all parts of the economy. People’s spending habits have started to change and that will continue to accelerate the longer the high price of everything holds. And it doesn’t look like high prices for goods are going away this time. Within a year or two the state of the economy could be considered a depression(unemployment above 10%). We might already be there if you consider the number of people who have given up on finding a job.
