Specific Ratings (A-F):
Arrival/Departure (easy to find, easy to leave?) – This was quite confusing for MANY this year due to the road closures and detours. We ended up near a bowling alley (that we didn’t know existed) along with others that didn’t have a clue where to go. Thankfully one had a map and I called Moparkid. Eventually we found our way into Blanchardville. Signs along the way would be very much appreciated to ensure you are headed in the right direction, along with some signs when you get into town.
Parking Location – The park was rather muddy in some places, but dried up nicely during the day.
Class Organization – They parked you within your classes unless you were with a club of 5 or more.
Trophies & Prizes – Door prizes throughout the day, I didn’t see many winning though.
Food – Your usual ~ burgers and hot dogs.
Entertainment – Race cars and dyno, my kind of entertainment! I heard music on and off throughout the day.
Judging – This was a bit upsetting to some as you were supposed to have a sticker on your sheet indicating if you were judged or not. Many where I was parked didn’t have stickers and were told to come up front if we didn’t have a sticker, which we did ~ only to be told not all judges used the stickers?!
Dash Plaque – I got one, Frank’s drawings are always very nice and well done.
Variety of Cars – Great! Some friends we haven’t seen yet this year and many new cars from every direction.
Bathrooms – Portables and ones in the park, I know the Women’s bathroom had issues and heard “Park Maintenance” paged, hope that wasn’t for the restroom!
Weather – It was windy but for once it was 100 in the shade!
Trophy Presentation Timing – They were running a bit late, but keep the show moving once they start. Nice job.
Entry Fee – $6 if you preregister (which we always do) and $12 day of show, that’s pretty typical.
Overall Rating: BThis is always a good show with variety every year. Other than having a hard time getting there this morning, we had a good day. I can’t believe Blanchardville has come and gone already for another year, the summer is going too fast!

Arrival/Departure (easy to find, easy to leave?) – I had my GPS and I took a wrong turn, so I just let it recalculate the route and it took me right to the show. Now on the way home, it took me to a closed road so I just drove in the general direction of home and it recalculated the route and got me back to 151.Parking Location – Grass. some spots looked a little wet.
Class Organization – Signs and plenty of folks to point you in the right direction.
Trophies & Prizes – They had them
Food – Standard burgers, hot dogs, ice cream. There was a good crowd because around 3ish they ran out of food.
Entertainment – 3d sound and the dyno pull (I think last year only like 2 people did the dyno due to the heat); and a Pin Strip guy
Judging – The judges worked in pairs
Dash Plaque – got one, very nice.
Variety of Cars – Lots of different stuff (my guess is about 300 cars), and lots of unique rat rods
Bathrooms – Around the park including some outside up the hill
Weather – Sunny and 75 and windy (I’m surprised some of the EZ ups didn’t go flying)
Trophy Presentation Timing – A little late, but they were quick passing out the awards, and for many classes they added extra trophies since classes were larger and they had extra trophies due to some classes not having cars or not enough cars.
Entry Fee – 12 which is a fair price for a show of this size.

July 14, 2008 at 5:08 am #32415GaribaldiKeymasterSounds like a good time at Blanchardville once you found your way there. As usual it was the hottest show of the year (or close to it) sunny.gif
July 14, 2008 at 11:14 am #32416circletrackParticipantActually it wasn’t that hot this year, it was the wind. My daughter told me one of the EZ Ups ended up in the pool, which wasn’t good, but better than on top of another car.
I did hear they had 300 cars, which was down from past years. These stupid gas prices aren’t helping anyone! blob8.gif

Arrival/Departure (easy to find, easy to leave?) – Easy for me since I live a few miles south of Blue Mounds and Cty F takes me right to Blanchardville. Circletrack called me to get directions when the detours on Hwy 78 led them on a goose chase.
Parking Location – A, I was right under a huge oak tree. Plenty of shade all day.
Class Organization – C, this really sucked if you were a judge. We were told during the judges meeting that if a car is parked with there club, go to the club and judge it. If they are not parked in there class, don’t go out of your way to find them and judge them. I was missing two cars to judge but found them. The other side of the coin on this one is that some wanted to be in a class where they didn’t belong, and some of the crew helping were parking cars in the wrong classes.
Trophies & Prizes – Typical nice trophies, and a few won door prizes.
Food – Burgers and Brats, usual.
Entertainment – 3D sound with Dave Palmer. Dave knows his cars!
Judging – From what I saw, every class was judged fair (including the one I was in thumbsup.gif ). There was some issues with club cars not getting judged, and I think that was laziness on other judges part not wanting to go to out where they were parked.
Dash Plaque – Very nice once again.
Variety of Cars – The selection was good, but the numbers for the show were way down this year. Gas prices? Economy?
Bathrooms – Plastic potties nearby and throughout the park, and a pavillion restroom near the ball diamond.
Weather – Perfect, the best Blanchardville weather ever!
Trophy Presentation Timing – Late as usual, but not as late as most years.
Entry Fee – $6 pre-reg, $12 day of show.
Overall Rating:B The usual Blanchardville show.July 16, 2008 at 10:56 pm #32418GTO ManModeratorSpecific Ratings (A-F):

Congrats on your Best In Class award at Blanchardville. The GTO was looking awesome. I wish you could have been there to receive your award. This show made it clear that you must be present to receive the award, so it was not possible for me (or anyone else) to step up and accept the award on your behalf. Anyway, Congrats on your win.

About 5 hours or so.The only complaint I had was with the entrance fee. They offer show only for 6 bucks which is what I wanted to go as, but, if you want a dash plaque you have to pay the 12.00. I paid the 12 but I do think an extra 6 bucks for a dash plaque is pricey. When they sell last yrs for ten cents. With high gas prices I think they should of offered one to anybody who chose to show up. Like I said though it was an ok show. I wont ever go back to it though. Not really worth the 5 hour trip.
