Overall Rating:A-/B+I thought the show was nice, you couldn’t ask for a much nicer day. The food could have had some other choices and the entertainment was lacking ( what happened to the Wheel Dyno from last year?). Trophy presentation was a little late (4 PM) many of the people had already left. BUT once it got started it went rather quickly!
Specific Ratings (A-F):
Arrival/Departure (easy to find, easy to leave?) – Very easy to find, although I didn’t see any signs for those not familiar with the area.
Parking Location – Clubs were parked together this year, which is fine but they decided to park us next to the septic system, which is failing. There was plenty of room in the park, this won’t happen next year.
Class Organization – Great job in marking the classes clearly.
Trophies & Prizes – I think everyone received the same door prize with the exception of a few “bigger” ones. The trophies were nice, the “Best of” awards are HUGE!
Food – A better selection would’ve been nice… What happened to breakfast??? Many weren’t happy the “alcohol police” had you put a wristband on just to get a hot dog.
Entertainment – The DJ played a good mix of new and old.
Judging – They seemed to know what they were doing…
Dash Plaque – I was disappointed in this as I thought the cars that won last year would be on the plaque and instead a picture of a car in front of their old shop?
Variety of Cars – Excellent!
Bathrooms – This year there were portables, along with inside ones. There was a donation jar for a new septic system though, not a good sign.
Weather – Perfect!!!!
Trophy Presentation Timing – I like shows that start awards earlier in the day, 4 p.m. is a little late, especially if you don’t get started on time, which was the case here. I also think it’s fair you have to be present to get an award, there were many that left around lunchtime that earned an award and for those that sit there until 4-5 p.m., this hardly seems fair.
Entry Fee – $10, typical now days.
Overall Rating: BThis show was down to about 175 cars this year due to other shows in the area. It’s very hard to go against Fox Lake, so I would suggest changing the date back to late August like last year, and leaving it there. Many people that attend shows regularly know when the shows happen and plan accordingly.
Otherwise, it’s a good show and always nice to see everyone from the Madison area.
Congrats to all the winners, many from the Road Apples took awards home!

Class Organization – B…stock classes were a bit broad.
Trophies & Prizes – A…huge best of tropheys, decent door prizes.
Food – C…VFW didnt organize that whole section very well at all.
Entertainment – B+…Good mix of old and classic rock.
Judging – B+…we had a knowledgable group judging…headed by Frank from the Blandchardville shows.
Dash Plaque – C+…average.
Variety of Cars – A…a lot of good quality bikes and cars.
Bathrooms – B…portas, and VFW building.
Weather – A…perfect
Trophy Presentation Timing – B-…4pm is awefully late in the day
Entry Fee – B…$10…average for this year
Overall Rating: B+…
Attendance was down due to other shows in the area. It was still a good show, things went really smoothly even after having some minor hiccups. Next year’s should prove to be bigger and better.
VFW controlled the concessions…hopefully they plan that differently next time.
