    What do you think of the new partnership? Will it make any difference in the long run? What can they learn from each other, if anything?

    I think Fiat has more to gain than Chrysler does. The Chrysler design language will have to change a lot in order to be adapted to Fiat, and vice versa, so I think it will be more of them using each other’s dealership space in both markets than actually producing new cars.

    What is really interesting is that they both have ties to GM, even though GM bailed from thier deal with Fiat a few years ago, they still get parts from GM and Opal. And Chrysler is owned by Cerberus…which also has a very large stake in GMAC. Perhaps the longterm result will be a merger of GM and Chrysler with a stronger foothold in the Europe market.

    Although it will be nice to see the Alfa Romeo name in the US.
