I see this car show was canceled and there are no plans for any future ones. I wonder if it is a victim of the economy?

Looking on the Spud City car show website I found a forum and quoted a post that may shed some light on the subject. I also emailed them to get an answer too:

“Hellfire – Ran into some health problems and had no one
else who wanted to take over the event. If no one steps up to take it
over there will be no more … John T.”

It’s very unfortunate when shows are no longer held. Coming from my point of view though and planning the Road Apples car show, times are VERY tough for many businesses and they just don’t have the extra money to help you out this year. I have a feeling some of the shows will have to give out smaller awards and possibly concentrate more on door prizes and just generally having a good time!

Having help is very important too, you can’t put on a show with one or two people, many more are needed. Hopefully someone will step up and help them out, from the pictures the show looked like a good one.

Getting an award is nice, but looking at all the trophies we’ve accumulated over the years, we have boxes of trophies ~ as I’m sure many of you do. The reward is that day surrounded by your peers. We’ve been to several shows over the years that don’t give out awards, I like those too!

I did receive an email back from the show organizer’s wife. She confirmed there has been some health issues and they may have someone to take it over, but she was unsure.

    Get Well Soon.
