From the Ford camp I would say it would be the Ford GT. It is only slated for a two year production run and from what I understand all the builds have been spoken for. The 2003-2004 Mustang Cobras are sure to be a collectors item since 10,000 are produced each year.

From the General I would say the 1990-1995 Corvette ZR-1. The only Corvette of it’s kind to house a 5.7L 32 valve motor that made 375 horsepower. The 1998-2002 Camaros and Firebirds that had the LS1 motor in their bays.

From Dalmer Chrysler it would be the Phymouth Prowler. It was in production for five years and it was a modern interpretation of the classic hot rod. Dodge Vipers will also demand top dollar.

If we go overseas I would have to say the McClaern F1 and Ferrari Enzo. There were only 300 Enzo’s produced and you have to be invited to buy one. Part of the criteria for getting an inviation is that you must own or haved owned a Ferarri F40 and F50.

Also maybe the Aztec first edition since it was so villified – the ones you love to hate tend to become “must haves” later in life.

Ford’s retro tbird would also fit.

I would also agree with the retro tbirds, from 2002 to 2005. Based on their lackluster performance and sales records when new, combined with the low number of vehicles produced, and the fact that they were only back for 4 model years, they will be one of the more desirable collectible cars in 15 to 20 years.

Assuming they go into production (obviously they will but they’re still technically “CONCEPT CARS” in name only at least).

I don’t see too many of today’s cars becoming collectable. I don’t even see many of cars built in the last 20-30 years being collectables either. Sure some expensive cars like a corvette and Ford GT, but as far as regular cars, Fieros, some Camaros and Trans Am’s, some Nissan 240Z’s, and maybe a RX-7.

One note on the tech edge. I remember hearing on a newsradio bit about the oem problems of car companies. Some might make it so cost prohibitive to make cheap clones that you’d be forced to buy original replacements from the original manufacturer.
