back in 2010 when I Purchased my 1981 Reliant its engine bay was less than clean, it was ziebarted when new..so I stripped the paint in the engine bay..and redid everything, only problem is the chrysler engine blue never matched..that is until I got a great idea..about 10 years ago I built a 1970 Superbird model, its color was light blue similar to petty blue. So I got to thinking, would this paint work on my 81 2.2 engine? so off to the hobby store. purchased a can of the paint for 4.99 didn’t use alot. Had to take off the air cleaner housing, vacume lines to carb, disconnect throttle linkage, timing belt cover and air pump cover, painted all the little bolts as well in silver…Photo was taken with my phone… total hours about 3, now im just wondering how well it will hold up..but now it is the correct blue..engine block was done with a brush..
and an added bonus my NOS hubcaps came yesterday… now all that is left is to fix some small bondo areas that have rust under them..
