Got what they deserved. Happy Valley isn’t so happy anymore.

I think all involved should be in jail, the university should be heavily fined and the money to a fund for abused children, but no sanctions on the program. The kids there now had nothing to do with it, yet they are the ones paying for it. Plus the program being sanctioned effects others too. Remember the BCS uses a strength of schedule to determine bowl placement. Now every team that plays PSU for the next 4-8 years is saddled with a lower ranking because PSU will not be a strong team. How is that fair?

Two wrongs do not make it right. Punish the criminals not the world. To me the punishment is like this

A group of people embezzle from a company, they get caught, get fired and go to prison, now all of the employees have to pay the money back, including those hired after the crime.

Now please don’t get me wrong, I am not equating what happened with theft. What Sandusky did was infinitely more disgusting and I hope he lives a long painful life being anally raped hourly, but the punishment handed out to PSU is not hurting the criminals involved.

This judgement wasn’t set against the players, or the students, it was sent to send a message to those living and deceased that sexual abuse (or covering it up) will not be tolerated by the BCS. Instead of stepping up for the “School that he loved,” Joe Paterno covered up a very serious issue, now tainting his reputation and the reputation of the school. I wish he would’ve lived long enough to see what was handed down in punishment.

Jerry Sandusky deserves to become some Bubba’s bitch in prison.

This is a case where people who had nothing to do with the situation will get hurt. But it needs to be that way so that it doesn’t happen again. There isn’t a good way to disconnect the current students and the University from the punishment.

People in this country for some reason put sports stars, coaches, etc. on a pedestal. Why, I can’t figure out. It is entertainment, nothing more than that.

Famous people, and people of power in general, are revered because most of us want to be more than we are.

There is a way to charge the school and not the students…huge heavy fines. And that money put towards programs for sexually abused children. Do some good, not simply punish for the sake of punishment. There should be healing, not more damage.

And no matter what punishment you create, sick people will do sick things.
