Here’s a link to the actual bill: https://docs.legis.wisconsin.gov/2013/related/proposals/sb204

It’s long, but it appears to do what it says it does. It’s currently before the Senate Transportation Committee. So far, no evidence of a companion bill in the Assembly.

Maddog’s right, if you support this bill, then you should be speaking out about it.

While we’re on the subject of Wisconsin license plates, who here would support (or oppose) the idea of Year Of Manufacture (YOM) license plates? Currently some other states allow them, but not here. I’m just curious what owners think.

A YOM plate would be designed like it was that year? I would definitely support that, I don’t know why anyone wouldn’t.

Basically, it’s a historically accurate license plate for your state for the year that your car was built. Here’s a link to a company that sells exactly such plates: http://www.turnerplates.com/YOM%20Index.html

As their site indicates, and as a Google search reveals, many states permit vehicles to display such an identifying plate, in most cases some registration papers or normal license plate must be contained within the vehicle too.

There are some owners who are interested in seeing such a law implemented in Wis., and I’m just curious how people on this forum feel about it.
