    Hi,

I finished Michael Chricton’s The Andromeda Strain not too long ago. Very good book. I’m glad it got him off to a great sci fi start. What was his early book Rising Sun about???? I’m a pretty big Chricton fan. I’ve also read Sphere, Jurassic Park, and The Lost world.

You’re not a Farscape fan are you? Otherwise I’d have to ask about how you spell Crichton, its “Crichton” isn’t it? At any rate I like his books a lot too, I’ve read Sphere, Prey, and Timeline. All very good.

    I’m reading……

    ‘Rx… The Life Atom’
    by Calvin Samuel Page
(I think he only wrote 4 books, and there isn’t
any information about him on the internet)

Published around the turn of the century…….
    ……..the previous century!!! :D

    What is it about?

    Well, let’s see.

    It’s a physics/science book. (from around 1900)

Rx is an atom discovered by the author.

I’ve never heard of Rx before. It’s basically heat.

That really cleared that up!!! icon_eek.gif icon_eek.gif icon_eek.gif

Isn’t Rx the symbol for medicine or a pharmacy? Seems strange that it would also symbolize heat!

Not actually heat. My explanation was bad, but it has to do with heat.

He says Rx is an atomic element, like helium, hydrogen, etc.

The books are a complete departure from everything
    that we’ve learned.

I like to find answers in older books because they haven’t
been altered like modern books have.

For example, when I was in elementary school way back in 19– I was taught that
the Earth had a solid core. Then a decade later it had a molten core.

Five years ago they said it has an iron core that revolves in an opposite
direction than the surface of the planet.

    Much reading to do!!! icon_rolleyes.gif
