Did anyone call or take a look at this chevelle?
February 3, 2007 at 10:43 pm #29015montefrazerParticipantI looked for it today and can’t find it. Do you have a link?
February 4, 2007 at 1:44 am #29016circletrackParticipantI looked right after this was posted and there was nothing, the ad must’ve been pulled. I would think the interest would be high!

February 7, 2007 at 1:32 pm #29018AnonymousInactiveCan we safely assume that this car would have sold within hours of being posted?
I have been watching (I actually drive past the car a couple of times each week) a 1970? Chevy Chevelle that is just sitting (not covered and hasn’t been moved in several years). It is a two door coupe and I am guessing that it would be a big block since it has the cowl openings on both sides of the hood.
I suspect that alot of folks have stopped and asked if the car is for sale. I haven’t stopped and tried to buy the car since I am not a Chevy guy. If anyone wants the info, send me a PM and I will tell you where the car is at.
February 8, 2007 at 4:28 am #29019GaribaldiKeymasterWhat’s the wear and tear going to be on something like that sitting out in this Wisconsin weather without protection?
February 8, 2007 at 1:27 pm #29020AnonymousInactiveI am certain that the weather is taking it’s toll, that is why it pains me so much to see this car just sit there month after month, going on several years now.
But you know what the owner would tell me or anyone else who would stop and try to buy it. He or she would simply say “It’s not for sale, I’m gonna fix it up some day.” Or, the Barrett-Jackson effect would kick in, and they would want ten times what the car is actually worth.

Very solid car only it needs a lot of metal working. We took it apart 2 years ago to start doing body work but than he had a kid and it hasn’t been touched since. Click on my sig than go to non mopar to see pics of it. If anyone is interested I can pass the info on to my brother and I could post more info about it also.
February 10, 2007 at 8:46 pm #29023circletrackParticipantYes, if you could post more info, that would be great! Does he have additonal pics? Any interior?

Any interior?I will see if he has more pics these were just ones I had taken at one time. Interior was rough we ended up gutting most of it and throwing it away like the header and carpet. I don’t recall what he has for interior that is still good.
Engine is a 350 with a stroker kit. Has 4bolt mains. The owner before my brother had put the stroker kit in so we really don’t know much about it or what cam is in it. Supposedly the past owner was running 2.02 heads on it but took them off and put a really bad stock set on that smoked like crazy. After my bro got the car we pulled the motor right away and tore it down. The block needed to be redone so it is now .30 over unsure what pistons went back into it. He had it confirmed it was a stroker crank. Crank and cam looked fairly new barely even looked like it was broken it yet and the rest of the motor needed a good freshening up. Engine has pretty much everything else new. Refurbished stock heads, water and oil pump. Has Edelbrock performer intake that was on it when my bro got the car. Has a newer 600CFM Edlebrock carb. Engine is very strong now but it needs to be tuned properly now. I think a Distributor recurving and better ignition system would really set this motor up right. If you looking for a racer I would get different heads and cam for it as well.
Other goodies it has is a Flowmaster dual exhaust kit that my brother put on, turbo 350 tranny, and 10-bolt rear. Radiator and gas tank my brother had refurbished.
Not sure if he ever checked if it was a numbers matching car but if I had to guess I would say probably not. Its definately a project car but the mechanicals and structure is pretty sound! Just needs to a lot of TLC to the body and interior. Was originally and Arkansas car. Also was a weekend cruiser for my bro up until we started taking apart to do work to it.
