How hard is it to rebuild the steering box on a 61 F100? What do I need to do? And what am I getting into here?
My truck likes to wander all over the place; I have a lot of slop in the steering. The kingpins were replaced about 5 years back along with new shocks & tires. I have read here, where a few group members have changed their trucks over to power steering. I have never seen that done with a straight axle. Is it something simple to do? And where would I need to start looking for parts that would work?
It drives me nuts because I have come along way with the old truck and a lot of work has gone into it I rebuilt the 351C added a C6 turbohydomatic however quickly learned that I had to custom build the drive line. Its fast as *ell just can’t keep it between the lines past 65mph. anyone that can help me here I sure would appreciate it.
