Also, someone mentioned an oil leak on their 258 a
little while back; I’ve had a leak for a while (so has
my Jeep), and when I checked the oil yesterday I
noticed that the dipstick tube has fresh oil around
it. Now, I have NOT tried to fill the engine’s oil
through the dipstick tube, so I get the impression
that it is somehow pushing oil out of the engine. The
oil is NOT over-full, and I know the rear main and/or
pan gasket is leaking, but what would cause the engine
to push oil that high?
I even looked at the valve cover, and it’s fine, no
leaks around it. Someone mentioned blocked EGR; could
that cause this?
