Welcome Forum The Drag Strip An interesting problem with my Radio/CD player

I bought a new JVC sd750 (I think) AM/FM radio and CD player for my car last year. It worked ok but not too long ago it had a problem taking my cds, the motor couldn’t grab them. I then took a plastic clear cd (like you find in blank cd packs) and inserted it until the motor could grab it. This fixed it and then it worked fine, playing any cd I would put in. Just a couple weeks ago, however, I turned it on and it said “CD … Play” but no sound came out. I tried adjusting the volume but it was all the way up. I tried ejecting the cd and it said “Ejecting…” but nothing ever came out. A few seconds later it then said “CD…. Play” meaning that it recognized the cd was in there and now was playing it!!! Basically the cd player ate my cd!!

Is there any easy way to get it out other than dismantling it? I did try inserting something into the small hole in the front (like on a cd drive) that will manually eject the drive but that didn’t work.

    Hmm…
Interesting Problem sounds like a vaccum problem (if the CD Player is vaccum) or electric. I think you might have to contact JVC on this.

    The CD Player Says:
    Me Hungry …Me take CD…… Drogar-Laugh(LBG).gif

I’ll try contacting JVC, unfortunately I’m sure they won’t do anything about it as most companies are. 😉

I guess that if you are lucky enough to contact (reach) the technical department, they should put you through the right extension which might have nothing to do with the after sale service. I know this sounds strange, but honestly, technicians have better answers than people who take after sale calls…
That is usuallly the way I do in France, I think it could work.
Given the right serial number of the CD player, things should work out fine. icon_wink.gif

Good luck to you on this one icon_cool.gif

    Write or Calling is best.

E-Mail isn’t a good choice for problems like these.

Thanks, I think that is probably my best bet. Like hpdog said email isn’t any good, chances of a response are slim.

You didn’t mention if the problem is fixed.

If nothing else works you can try disconnecting
the power wire to the radio.

Give it a few minutes, and then hook it up again.

Sometimes I’ve fixed problems with electronics with that method.

I still haven’t contacted JVC, too busy.

That’s probably what I’ll end up doing, disconecting it and then reconnecting it. Unfortunately I can’t find any other way to do it.
