I was just wondering.
On one of the other forums that I frequent (Vintage Mustang Forums, VMF), a poster was ranting and raving about buying and selling on craigslist. Low and behold, I find that we have one here locally.
I found a 1967 Ford Galaxie convertible in Montello that I have taken an interest in. Allowing for the seller to contact me this weekend, I plan to drive up and take a look at it.
I haven’t spent alot of time on craigslist, but so far, I am pretty impressed with what I have seen.

I am growing tired of these people that have a classic that is in very poor shape so they paint it flat black and call it a rat rod. Rat rods are not run down classics painted flat black. They are street rods made on a budget like the original street rods of the 30’s and 40’s, the cars that started the whole car modifying trend. That Impala is not a rat rod.
People tend to stretch the classification for their cars. Many cars with large engines are now sometimes termed muscle cars which they wern’t when they came out.
I absolutely love the Gremlin. That is in great shape too. Didn’t those things rust on the showroom floor?
I love when people quote what the car “would be worth” if it was restored. What they always fail to say is that to get the car in the $30K range that it is supposedly worth, you iwll spend more than that.
