    I was just wondering.

On one of the other forums that I frequent (Vintage Mustang Forums, VMF), a poster was ranting and raving about buying and selling on craigslist. Low and behold, I find that we have one here locally.

I found a 1967 Ford Galaxie convertible in Montello that I have taken an interest in. Allowing for the seller to contact me this weekend, I plan to drive up and take a look at it.

I haven’t spent alot of time on craigslist, but so far, I am pretty impressed with what I have seen.

I wonder if RivFan knows about the Buick Riviera? That is certainly a style of car that he really likes! And we all know, you can never have too many of these jumpy.gif

I know that yellow Camaro. It is everything he says and more. It is a true beast that can melt the tires on command.

I am amazed at all the cars coming up for sale. Are people selling because of high gas prices in part, or is this amount normal?

I don’t know for certain, but I am thinking that the state of the economy is forcing many of these sales. The problem is, many of these sellers seem to think that their cars will bring Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale auction prices on Ebay or Craigslist. This is simply not the case.

Craigslist is a good place to sell inexpensive stuff, but I don’t know how many expensive car sales are made via that website. I use it to advertise cars that I sell, and have had inquiries but no sales. It’s free to advertise also, and I think that has a lot to do with it.

Just in the last week there has been a huge increase in the number of cars on the site. from about 75 a day too 150-200.

Maybe there was an article in the news that has prompted folks to check it out and give it a try (you can’t beat free).

This is how it seems to be every spring. People think that selling a car in the fall will bring lower money because they feel no one will buy a car only to store it until the next spring, and then come spring time they feel buyers are looking for a cruiser for the summer….and they always feel that the car they have is the same as a similar car they saw on Barrett-Jackson. They never face the reality that all of the cars on BJ have a history and uniqueness that brings that money.
