    I was just wondering.

On one of the other forums that I frequent (Vintage Mustang Forums, VMF), a poster was ranting and raving about buying and selling on craigslist. Low and behold, I find that we have one here locally.

I found a 1967 Ford Galaxie convertible in Montello that I have taken an interest in. Allowing for the seller to contact me this weekend, I plan to drive up and take a look at it.

I haven’t spent alot of time on craigslist, but so far, I am pretty impressed with what I have seen.

I listed my girlfriends 02 Cavalier on craigslist Sunday afternoon.

A fella came and looked at it last night after work for his daughter. He came back tonight and bought it!

I feel craigslist is better to sell on than ebay, at least I’ve sold a heckofa lot more there…and sold it local too.

Now there’s a big empty hole in my garage. The car that got my attention so that I’d have to get her attention is gone :( But I still got the girl, and come saturday morning the garage will have a new member- a 2004 Chevy Impala SS :)

I have a co-worker that sold a car on craigslist a couple of weeks ago. He posted it at 3PM on a saturday, 10 minutes later he had an email, and at 3:30 he had cash in hand and the new owner was driving away….

craigslist is the way to go…. the Sunday paper is slim picking for local owners posting cars….

And the best part is it’s free. I am becoming more and more wary of Ebay. Too much misrepresentation out there.

I’ve had very good success on craigslist with small items, both as a seller and a buyer.

I listed the Mustang late last year and there didn’t seem to be much interest. I suspect it was the timing and asking price. It’s not a good time to be a seller looking for the full value of a car.

For what it’s worth, I check craigslist (and ebay and collectcaronline) almost daily, looking for that elusive red ’65 Impala SS convertibleB)

I know it’s a little late but, 25 years ago there was one that was always parked next to Thermo King across from the post office on Milwaukee St. It had a white top and a big block.

Thermo King has moved out past the airport on 51 now. But you never know maybe the owner of it still works there. B)
