Which do you have in your car, auto or manual steering? Also which do you prefer? I have manual steering which is fine most of the time but it would be nice to have auto when you get into a tight spot and you’re not going to fast. 😉

When I had older cars they had manual steering.

EDIT…. My older cars with manual steering were a ’66 Ford,
    a ’69 Rambler, and a ’75 VW Rabbit.

Had a Chevy Impala with power steering that went out. YIKES!!!! icon_eek.gif

My newer vehicles have power. I like power steering.

Both systems have good and bad features.

    Power steering….

Good at very slow speeds and when parking.
BUT….. If something goes wrong, forget about steering!!

It will be MUCH harder to steer.

Also might not give feedback on the way the car is handling.

    Manual steering…..

Usually harder to steer at slower speeds and when parking.

    Requires no maintainence.

Gives good feedback on the road conditions.

I agree completely, both are good in different situations but when it comes down to it Manual has less that goes wrong with it.

No, it was just the VERY basic model.

No carpet, no radio, cardboard headliner, 3 speed, etc.

    But here’s a Scrambler……

Oh, and I added another picture below it to wet your whistle!!!

Speaking about AMC’s, anyone know when the AMC show is in Kenosha?

I like the power steering in my Almera. It’s so light that you can turn the wheel easily with your little finger when the car is stopped.

Automatic. I’m getting lazier as I advance in years. Plus, it’s the way I’ll ever drive a car in San Francisco.

If you have to deal with any heavy traffic you definitely want an Automatic otherwise you’ll kill your leg with a stick
