Probably the ultimate collection. Should be interesting.

    some interesting facts …

over 100 cars will be for sale.

over 1400 pieces of automobile memorabilia including 104 porcelain signs with neon, many are new old stock.

Ron’s first job was working at a gas station

Ron’s first business he bought at the age of 21 was a gas station

We watched it last night also, I’m guessing the memorabilia will be mostly sold off the air?

He has so many cool items, the museum, or whatever he calls it, is truly one of a kind. I don’t know how you put a value on everything, and who is going to have the money to bid on the items?

A lot of the cars they show, were purchased in 2005-2007 … which was at the height of the market …

The marketing concept, of someone buying a Ron Pratte car, I really don’t think that will affect it much at all.

Also he has several Boyd Codington cars, and the couple that have sold in the past 12 months sell at numbers way cheaper then what it would of cost to build (even if some no-name shop built them).

I think the best part of all of this is that the show is now on the Velocity Channel.

Will putting that many high-end cars on the market dilute it? There are so many auctions taking place these days it is hard to keep up with them.

I think it is great that the Barrett-Jackson auction has found it’s way back to the Velocity Channel. It would be nice to see Mecum on there but I doubt that is going to happen.

I sure would like to see a listing of the cars and the time they will be auctioned off at.

Barrett Jackson released a video today, that stated the reason for selling the collection ….

Ron stated that it was on his bucket list to create the collection and now he is going to move on to something else …

Saturday night coverage wasn’t too impressive. Ron has a great collection of cars, we missed several due to the never ending commercials. I think I’ve had enough of Mike Joy & Chris Jacobs to last a lifetime :)

35 million to Ron for his cars ….

130 million dollars of cars sold for the whole auction ….
6.5 million in automobilia … (which I’m sure a big chunk was Ron’s…)….

It seems like every other card was a Mustang GT! It would have been nice to have seen some more variety…
