Probably the ultimate collection. Should be interesting.
November 16, 2014 at 2:43 pm #42623Amigo2kModeratorsome interesting facts …
over 100 cars will be for sale.
over 1400 pieces of automobile memorabilia including 104 porcelain signs with neon, many are new old stock.
Ron’s first job was working at a gas station
Ron’s first business he bought at the age of 21 was a gas station
November 16, 2014 at 10:16 pm #42624circletrackParticipantWe watched it last night also, I’m guessing the memorabilia will be mostly sold off the air?
He has so many cool items, the museum, or whatever he calls it, is truly one of a kind. I don’t know how you put a value on everything, and who is going to have the money to bid on the items?
November 17, 2014 at 4:56 am #42625Amigo2kModeratorA lot of the cars they show, were purchased in 2005-2007 … which was at the height of the market …
The marketing concept, of someone buying a Ron Pratte car, I really don’t think that will affect it much at all.
Also he has several Boyd Codington cars, and the couple that have sold in the past 12 months sell at numbers way cheaper then what it would of cost to build (even if some no-name shop built them).
I think the best part of all of this is that the show is now on the Velocity Channel.
November 25, 2014 at 4:22 am #42626GTO ManModeratorWill putting that many high-end cars on the market dilute it? There are so many auctions taking place these days it is hard to keep up with them.
I think it is great that the Barrett-Jackson auction has found it’s way back to the Velocity Channel. It would be nice to see Mecum on there but I doubt that is going to happen.

*Gates, Sponsor and Vendor Marketplace Open Daily at 8am.December 12, 2014 at 1:12 pm #42649maddogParticipantI sure would like to see a listing of the cars and the time they will be auctioned off at.
January 11, 2015 at 7:57 pm #42622Amigo2kModeratorBarrett Jackson released a video today, that stated the reason for selling the collection ….
Ron stated that it was on his bucket list to create the collection and now he is going to move on to something else …
January 18, 2015 at 6:12 pm #42685circletrackParticipantSaturday night coverage wasn’t too impressive. Ron has a great collection of cars, we missed several due to the never ending commercials. I think I’ve had enough of Mike Joy & Chris Jacobs to last a lifetime
January 19, 2015 at 4:42 am #42695Amigo2kModerator35 million to Ron for his cars ….
130 million dollars of cars sold for the whole auction ….
6.5 million in automobilia … (which I’m sure a big chunk was Ron’s…)….January 20, 2015 at 1:17 am #42697circletrackParticipantI wish we could’ve seen some of the automobilia, he had some really cool stuff!
