Do you know if SG-1 has been renewed for an unprecedented 10th season yet?

SG-1 and Atlantis have both been renewed for 20 episodes each. That will make SG-1 the longest running Sci-Fi program of all time, out lasting X-Files, Twilight Zone, and every iteration of Star Trek.

Season 2.5 for Battlestar will begin in Jan. Then Season 3 is rumored to begin Aug or Sept of 2006.

Yes, congrats!!! SG-1 deserves it, although it is a different style of scifi it still brings some very unique elements to the table, I hope it’ll hit 15 and beyond!

As far as BSG S3 starting later, does that mean that scifi is rearranging their schedule so there will be no more “fall break” like we are in now?

The article didn’t state anything about when the episodes would air. It’s probably too early to know the exact schedule anyway.

BTW, someone at VH pointed out that Dr. Who was on longer. So the article I read must have been commenting on American TV shows.

Yeah, I knew about Dr. Who but I didn’t mention it because its British. It was on for 25 years, but I don’t really expect any real tv show to last for that long. From my understanding Dr. Who was more like the incarnations of Star Trek because the cast changed quite a bit over the 25 years

The Sci Fi Channel Wednesday picked up “Battlestar Galactica” for a third season.

Production on the 20 new episodes will begin early next year, Zap2it.com reported.

“Battlestar Galactica’s” cast — including Edward James Olmos and Mary McDonnell — will return for the third season along with executive producers David Eick and Ronald D. Moore.

“Battlestar Galactica” — based on the 1970s ABC series — has been a critical and ratings success, Zap2it.com said.

Always good news, although if you’re looking for no spoilers the fact that Mary Mc Donnell is coming back for next year kind of gives that away… but that could have been kind of an unbelieveable side-issue anyway
