I thought the race was good too! The seats will be filled this weekend, the economy is having an effect on everyone, including Nascar.
I’m a Hendrick fan and love to see those guys do well, but yes it was good for Kevin Harvick to take the win. I’d love to see Mark Martin have a good year, he’s more than deserving of that!
+1 That was a good race. Im not a fan of the format and the eligibility criteria…seems more like a bailout for the manufacturers than it was about the drivers. It used to have some prestige behind it…now anyone seemingly can get in (Logano, Speed, Menard, etc.)
Did anyone else notice how badly the cars handled??? You know Nascar designed a crappy outdated car when the crews weld the front springs into a compressed mass of steel in order to make the car turn…
It will be interesting to see how the year plays out.
I’m going to Michigan for a friends’ wedding this week. But I’ll be home late saturday night so I can watch the race on Sunday!!

Good article in the paper about how boring Jimmy Johnson is. He is a great driver but doesn’t add anything else.
Yes, Jimmie needs to show he’s not always Mr. Nice Guy and act the part. Nascar fans like drivers who are tough and like to create action within the sport, something Jimmie rarely does.
