Just because a cruise-in location serves alcohol doesn’t mean you have to over indulge if you attend.

It is nice to have some great cruise-ins in Madison and the surrounding area. The car hobby seems to be thriving around here.

Stopped out at the DeForest Car Show today, the weather did a real number on it.

Yeah, a rainy, 55 degree day don’t help a show. I was going to venture out to Alliant Energy Center but decided to satay home.

I think both the weather AND the Power Tour did a number on that show. We were going to stop by around 10 to drop off flyers for the Road Apples show and there were about a dozen cars, so we kept going.

We went to the Alliant Center from there, over 3000 cars there. Everyone in the Madison area that normally attends shows was there instead.

Putting on a show takes allot of planning and time and its too bad when things don’t work out because of weather and other factors.

The wet weather and the cooler temps kept me away from DeForest today. Dick and I were on the phone about 7AM, and we both were in agreement to just keep the cars in the garage today and hope for better weather tomorrow.

I was able to make my way towards the Alliant Energy Center about 4PM and it looked like a lot of Power Tour cars and spectators were leaving, so I didn’t go in. I did see some really amazing hot rods and collector cars on the beltline throughout the day.

I was also able to drive out to Sun Prairie before the steady rain set in and check out a ’69 Chevelle convertible that is for sale by a private party. I made an offer on the car, but as of now, the seller has not accepted my offer.

Maybe the sun will shine and temps will be warmer tomorrow in Jefferson.

I didnt head out at all this weekend…after seeing the weather I stayed home and finished rebuilding the heads and got the car running. Hopefully its good to go for the weekend.
