I rolled in at 8:45 and was car #29. By noon they had ~125 cars (record for this show).
I want to thank some of the GTO club members who answered some of the questions I had on my car (like where was my engine VIN is) and I have the card from one member that has the missing AC parts I need.
Sun on and off, cool at time, and perfect at times.
Standard burgers, brats and dogs…
Judging was each participant picked their top 25 and then the put it into a computer to see which cars were the top 50.
They had a ton of car related door prizes.
My only suggestion is to put up some signs about NO BIKES … I had kids and adults, riding their bikes between my car and the one next to mine …
Congrats to Circletrack, Marshall, EclispeTunner on their best of awards! This was my first show with my car and it also was a best of pick (ironically my 1st award with my last car was at this same show).

I was completely impressed to see that one of the organizers (Sheldon) donated his winning share of the 50/50 raffle to this years charity, the local food pantry! Well done, GTO Club!!!
I was skeptical that the switch to participant judging would not work well for this show. But, for this show, it works extremely well. Actually, with the large number of awards handed out, close to 50% of the cars/trucks attending this show went home with an award today. Again, well done, with very nice awards and dash plaques.
All in all, a very good show this year!!!!

September 18, 2011 at 4:57 am #38736Blue55ChevyParticipantWe attended this show a few years back when they had one individual outside judge do all the cars and thought it went well.
I hesitated to make the trip when I heard it was changed to participant vote.
Sounds like it went well with the new twist.
But I still prefer concourse judging.

Hows about a nice day around great cars ? and to the complaint about a buck can of soda get real. A buck is cheap compared to some places. I pay 1.25 at a machine at work. Iola its 1.50 and others charge 2.00. The club put on a great show they deserve a big hand for handling it well.

I haven’t been to a show that was perfect.
September 19, 2011 at 3:08 am #38754circletrackParticipantI submitted my review like everyone else did, those are my thoughts. The club did a great job, I also said I enjoyed the day and it was a good show, you must have missed that part.
Judging is a big deal, I know it is a lot of work. I attend several shows and know that many prefer to have their cars judged fairly, not just by the color, make or model. I also don’t appreciate being called a trophy hound. Winning awards is very nice THE day of the show when you are surrounded by your peers, after that the awards collect dust, anyone can agree with me on that. I never, ever expect to win an award, the quality of cars has increased so much you never know what you’re going to see from one show to the next, which is a great thing.
We all should consider ourselves lucky there are so many shows in the area, most often several to choose from. I attend shows to enjoy the day with my friends and family, winning is a bonus.
I have never paid $2 for a can of soda at a show, and never will.
You possibly need to attend more shows to give an accurate review.

It’s funny how some people bash others for their reasons of being at shows.Who cares. If you dont like my reviews these people can take a sugar frosted you know what off of my you know where.
I also like the trim at these shows:evil:
