The Volt has increased its range to 53 miles of all electric. That is up from 38 previously. Total range is now 420 miles. And depending on how you drive 53 all electric can be increased substantially.
I had a 2013 Volt for 3 years and was greatly impressed. With the price of gas coming down as much as it has do electric vehicles make sense?

Now that we have them, I think they will be here to stay. Prius owners seem to stick with their cars also, upgrading to newer models when getting a different vehicle.
I think the real question is will the price of gas stay low (within reason)? One would like to think that the influx of hybrids and electrics would make a difference in the use of fossil fuels, but we still have soccer moms driving suburbans.
