Madison seems to be a city which has lost control in a number of areas:
— Crime – even though they say some types of crime are going down I wouldn’t believe it. Many crimes are now self-reporting where in the past they haven’t been. It saves on Police resources, but on the other hand many of those crimes are never reported now. Incidents which are actually more than 1 crime being committed are reported now as just 1 crime. Police in Madison don’t seem to know how to deal with what is happening. They would of been much better off recognizing what was going on(gangs, drug addicts, etc) and doing something before it got out of control.
— Traffic – Many drivers in this city can be categorized as rude, aggressive, and ignorant.Cell phones should be banned while driving.
— Taxes – keep going up and the level of services keep going down. Maybe the city can’t do everything for everyone. It will be very interesting if the School Board uses the surprise funds it will be getting in State revenue(approximately 17 million more than expected) to reduce the tax levy for the schools. That would basically keep the School tax increase to nearly 0.
