I do my car by hand with a soft, non-abrasive wax. I put it on with a damp cloth (it requires water to bond) then rub it off with another (dry) cloth.

It seems to do the same job – removes oxidation, shines the car and protects it from water and dirt. What’s the difference?

I think the difference is the this would be a (Secondary) way, it would work if you can’t get anywhere with your way.
