    Hi Everyone,

A good friend of mine has a 1976 Austin Healey Spyder. Unfortunately the engine is in bad shape and will have to be rebuild. It is a racing engine but he doesn’t want to use it for that so he was looking for something smaller and better for the environment. Does anyone know if its possible or who to talk to about converting it to a different engine or possibly an electric engine?

    Thanks!

Anything is possible it all matters how much you want to spend. The cheapest fix would be to find a used engine to bolt back into it.

    check out http://car-part.com

for used engines (priced at 350-400 bucks)

    here is some electric ideas:

Perhaps a modern Ecotech engine with it’s attendant computer controls would do the trick. Plenty zippy, great mileage and very clean burning.
