For me it WAS thursday. The week is almost over, you deciding what show(s) to go to that weekend, and people are just more relaxed than they are during the early part of the week.
Second choice is tuesday because Road Apples and MSC have their cruise nights and both are good peeps.
November 16, 2007 at 2:02 pm #31075GTO ManModeratorI would agree about Thursday. After a long week it is nice to relax on a Thursday, especially if you have Friday off. Tuesday or Wednesday are also good days since you have some distance from any shows on the weekend. In a number of ways a cruise-in is more fun than the shows. You don’t have as much of a time commitment, you come and go as you please, and there isn’t any tension as far as winning awards, if thats what your into.

I, too, like the casualness of the cruise-ins as opposed to an all day show. It’s fun to just raise the hood, knock off the dust, and walk away to enjoy the other cars.

November 17, 2007 at 1:45 am #31077circletrackParticipantI prefer Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays as it’s a great way to break up the week and just relax. Fridays are bad (we’re racing) and I don’t like anything on Saturday or Sunday nights, especially if you’ve been at a show that day. The last thing I want is to be outside all day when it’s 90 degrees and have to go out that night also. Those are times for relaxing!
November 17, 2007 at 7:23 pm #31078moparkid25ParticipantAny night is good, but I guess I would have to say Thursday is best for me.
November 17, 2007 at 8:22 pm #31079jonmandudeParticipantWhy doesn’t the Road Apples move their Culvers night to Thursday?
November 17, 2007 at 10:21 pm #31080circletrackParticipantJon ~ I think we’re fine on Tuesdays, the WSC have moved their to Wednesdays. I don’t know if Thursday would work for the mgmt at Culver’s, but it’s always an option.
March 5, 2008 at 4:02 am #31081GTO ManModeratorFrom the calendar looks like the WSC has changed theirs back to Tuesdays.
March 5, 2008 at 4:23 am #31082Amigo2kModeratorIt looks like WSC have some shows Tuesday and Wednesday:
And the cruise in in Waunakee is gone …. boo.

March 6, 2008 at 3:36 am #31083circletrackParticipantFrom what I’ve been told, there are changes happening within the WSC. More than once I’ve said there is no reason to have more than one cruise night less than 15 miles apart in the same area, but my thoughts fall on deaf ears. The Road Apples have done Tuesdays for years now.
March 7, 2008 at 3:45 am #31084AnonymousInactiveIt is my understanding there will be a Cruise-In at Culvers in Waunakee
on Wednesday night. I am not sure of the details but I think they will come soon. This is the 9th year Wendy’s will be sponsoring a Tuesday Night Cruise-In.
I have been there since the beginning. Time flys when you are having fun.Does anyone know of a Cruise-In which has been ongoing at one location for more than 9 years in the Madison Area? I think the Beaver Dam Cruise-In has been around awhile but not sure how long.
March 7, 2008 at 1:19 pm #31085circletrackParticipantI wouldn’t say it’s been held in one location all those years. The clubs have voted more than once to change the location but always get overruled. That doesn’t make people happy.
I don’t recall cruise nights starting in 1999, the Road Apples were formed in 2003, that’s 5 years. My math must be off… I remember cruise nights starting the year before the Road Apples officially became a club.

Times fun when you are having flies.

The Sun Prairie Summer Cruisers became the Road Apples in 2002 and a club in 2003. Since I was the founder of both I think I have my time line correct. The Sun Prairie Summer Cruisers Banner still is on display at Checkers in Sun Prairie. It is not important when the clubs were formed. Cruise-Ins have been held at Wendy’s since 1999. The Star did an article on the Sun Prairie Summer Cruisers I believe in 2000. Also, I believe the State Journal wrote an article about the Sun Prairie Summer Cruisers that same year but I don’t recall the date. I am confident my date is correct. In fact in the Photo Gallery you will find photos of Articles from the Star and State Journal. Can’t make out the dates on the Articles but they do refer to the Sun Prairie Summer Cruisers which I know was formed in 1999.
March 8, 2008 at 5:19 am #31088circletrackParticipantAt any rate, good luck with your club. A club is made up of members, not one person who takes credit and makes changes as they see fit.
