Dane County employees are really getting the short end of the stick, an 8% pay cut. Isn’t there anything that can be cut that would prevent it. Why are they buying millions worth of land in a year when they have to cut employee wages? That doesn’t make sense.

I think all Dane County employees need to take Choppers advice.

8%!?!? I wish thats all i would have gotten!! Just be glad you have a f$%#@ job! I and alot more people have taken bigger paycuts then just 8% as of late. No one gets a free ride in this economy.

Paycut or job??? In this economy be grateful you even have a job….

I didn’t get a raise this year, more than likely won’t next year either. Steve hasn’t had a real raise in years. I wouldn’t complain if I were them, there’s many waiting to fill their shoes.

desperate times call for desperate measures. Having a job with a paycut is better than not having a job at all.

I’m more worried about the property tax increase that Falk will implement whether the county employees take a paycut or not…

My main point is why are they buying land when they are also making employees take pay cuts. Land is not a necessity in these times. I haven’t had a raise either in 6 or 7 years.

I agree with you. If county employees are to take a paycut to balance the county budget, the county shouldn’t buy anything whether it be land, highway dept trucks, etc. Hell, the county supervisors/employees that drive state vehicles home should have to drive there own vehicle to work and burn there own gas.
