Also the locals that lived at the proposed sight opposed the whole plan.
The train was a stupid idea……….why would you build something that loses 15-20 million dollars a year????, that the taxpayer would have to pay for, not a good idea at this time. If you want to create some jobs, they should build some state run casino’s or some cathouses…..at least they will show a profit and lower taxes.

Walker has indicated that he wants to change the set back for wind turbines from 1200 to 1800 feet. This will effectively kill any investment in this technology in Wisconsin. Hence that is why that developer decided against it here. Walker’s friends probably own the plants which produce other types of energy.
As far as the cost of operating the train on a yearly basis from what I understand your 15-20 million dollar number is way too high. Did you get that from Fox news. The cost which was estimated up to 10 million or so was to be 80% subsidized so the true cost was about 2 million. And that is before revenue that would of been brought in for renting the tracks for freight use.

And 80% will be subsidized by whom?………….the taxpayer!!!!!! How about this…….a novel idea, we build a high speed train, we put people to work….and it makes 1 million a year profit….hey I’m all for that!!!!
I’m all for creating jobs in WI but we have to do it in a way that dosen’t involve losing money so that a small number of people can benefit, we have too much of that now and look at the mess we’re in.

Those darned liberals again. They all have such a problem with renewable energy! If it wasn’t for them, we could all be powering our houses with coal, like in the “good ol’ days”!
Please give my regards to Dorothy, Toto, and the Tin Woodsman while you’re there…

I could wile away the hours
Conferrin’ with the flowers
Consultin’ with the rain
And my head I’d be scratchin’
While my thoughts were busy hatchin’
If I only had a brain…:silly:  :silly: :side:
