So do you give it the royal treatment? Do you spend more on car care then on media entertainment (ie tv/dvds etc)??

I finally got around to buffing the wheels a little. I still need to put more work on it but it shines again! I haven’t done it at all until now. I know bad car owner. But with a little more effort I think they’ll look just like new :) (4 year old car).

    Moderately.

You should see my neighbor though. He devotes the whole weekend to detailing his (and his wife’s) car(s). During the week he uses a parafin laced brush to brush his car before and after he drives it. In other words, he brushes his car before he leaves for work and again when he arrives. Then he brushes it before and after lunch. Then he brushes it before leaves for home and again when he arrives. And if he goes out for the evening, he brushes it again (before & after). The guy probably dreams about brushing his car(s). I’ve never seen such a serious case of OCD in my entire life. icon_cheesygrin.gif

His wife is much worse, though. By her own admission, she is so anal retentive that she only goes “number 2” once a week. I really feel sorry for their daughter……

yes i spoil my car but only about once every two months i take it to the car wash and get the full works interior and exterior service they really do a good job of it too. Also they opperate a reward card scheam where if you have 5 full works you get one free and also a standard exterior wash and wax free too . Bargain. thumbsup.gif

As you can see from my other thread about car-washing technique, I certainly do pamper my car. When I’m busy (at uni etc.) it gets cleaned inside, washed and two coats of wax every couple of weeks. Just now, I’m unemployed and very bored. My car tends to fall victim to this. I spent five hours working on it yesterday. I use a Dyson to clean it usually, but this time I cleaned everything out then used an upholstery cleaner, then cleaned it again. I worked over every part of the exterior several times to clean it up, then applied two coats of wax meticulously. It was obscenely shiny.

Then, just as I nipped in to get my camera for a photo in this thread, it started pissing it down with rain. Never mind – something to do when then forecast is better!

EDIT – Forgot to add, I only use the finest oil and components for my car. :)

    lwrwench,

I think he and his wife used to take a wide variety of pharmaceuticals (if you know what I mean), I’m pretty sure that has a lot to do with their current state of mind. 😯

or current state of “no mind”. :)

ah well, it’s a harmless way of passing the time, and no doubt affords great amusement to the neighborhood. :)
there are worse ways to obsess, certainly.
