I do. I haven’t gotten around to replacing it yet. It was the stock chrysler infiniti am/fm cassette deck (2001 model). Mine was probably the last year or next to last year it was available at all.

Pretty soon the cassette will be collector items. I was looking last night through some albums I have (actually vinyl records). I have some master recordings of the Beatles and Doors. It would be nice to know if they are worth anything. Does anyone know of a good site that has collectible record prices?

My car is sold standard with a Cassette & 6 CD Player. I’ve tested the cassette a few times, but haven’t had a need to use it. As an option, Nissan offers XM or Sirius satellite radio.

I’m still using the same head unit that I bought in 1994, complete with working cassette. I added the compatible 6 disc CD unit in the last 90’s and rarely use the cassette any more. Nice thing about my head unit is that it already had the CD controller built in, and it has a aux input too, so if I want to add Sirius radio, or something, I can just get a portable unit and plug it in.

That’s a great feature, it makes expansion so easy!!

I need a multiple choice pick for this. Two cars with AM/FM cassette, one with AM/FM 8 track, one with AM/FM, and one with AM. I do have an adapter for playing CDs in the cassette players. I also have lots of cassettes to listen to.

I used to. For a car made in 2000, that was stupid.

    I replaced it with this:

It’s pretty weird, in that you press the eject button (top-right) and the entire fascia moves away (hinged at the bottom, so falls flat slowly like it’s being sprung and resisted at the same time). The CD then comes out of a black slot behind it.

I’ve turned all the fancy light shows off – I just want a CD player. It’s quite nice to listen to – I put a set of JBL speakers in the back to improve vocals and high-end detail for rear passengers. I do want some new speakers fitted to the front, but it’s a bit of a mission in my car, so I’m leaving it for now. Sounds pretty good, anyway, and is certainly nicer than using my MP3 player and a cassette adapter… :)

Is it one of those that has a remote control as well? Those just seem completely worthless to me, I mean your arm is right there already!

Sounds like a great player, very versatile!

My XM radio came with a remote and I laughed. I was, however, surprised to find it’s easier to operate the radio with the remote then reaching over to push the buttons. w00t.gif

Weird, what makes it easier, just having everything more condensed maybe?

First, I have to stretch a bit to reach the radio, and that’s probably unsafe. Second, the buttons on the remote seem to be more logicaly laid out than the buttons on the radio itself.
